On Tuesday, May 27, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the “Social Value Business Rights (Exclusive for SMEs) Joint Logistics Center” at the Second Airport Logistics Complex in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon.
Selected as a national policy priority in 2022 to alleviate the logistics burden and reduce costs for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), this joint logistics center project is being carried out through collaboration among relevant ministries—including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance—as well as the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency and Incheon International Airport Corporation. JUNGLIM Architecture was awarded the design contract in 2023 and carried out the project.
Construction of the center will take approximately two years, from this year through next year, and it is scheduled to incorporate a smart logistics system utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as a deep learning-based artificial intelligence (AI) vision system and automated warehouse robots. Through this, the center is planned to operate as a one-stop logistics platform that provides integrated support for the entire process—from storage and transportation to customs clearance.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by key officials, including Lee Hak-jae, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation; Kang Seok-jin, Chairman of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency; and heads of provincial and local agencies and organizations. Representing JUNGLIM Architecture were Sunghyung Park (BL), Kim Jaehyun Kim (TL), Chung-bon Kim and Junhee Yang from the LogiTech Business Unit.
