On Tuesday, May 27, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the ‘Social Value Business Zone (SME-Exclusive) Joint Logistics Center’ at the Second Airport Logistics Complex in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon.
This joint logistics center, selected as a national policy task in 2022 to alleviate logistics burdens and reduce costs for SMEs, is being advanced through collaboration between relevant ministries—including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance—along with the Small and Medium Business Corporation and Incheon International Airport Corporation. Jeonglim Architects secured the design contract for the project in 2023.
Construction of the center will take approximately two years, from this year through next year. It will incorporate a smart logistics system utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as deep learning-based artificial intelligence (AI) vision systems and automated warehouse robots. The center is planned to operate as a one-stop logistics platform, providing integrated support for the entire process from logistics storage and transportation to customs clearance.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony that day were Sunghyung Park (BU Leader), Jaehyun Kim (TL), Chungbon Kim, and Joonhee Yang from the Logitech BU.
