On Thursday, May 8, the groundbreaking ceremony for ‘LG Electronics India’s Third Factory’ was held at the Sri City Industrial Park in Andhra Pradesh, near Chennai, India.

This third plant in India follows LG Electronics’ facilities in Noida (first plant) and Pune (second plant). Phase 1, covering half of the total 1 million square meter master plan site, will house two production buildings, one warehouse, and ancillary facilities. This marks the largest single new construction project in LG Electronics’ history globally. It is planned to serve as a production hub for home appliances in southern India and neighboring countries.

Junglim Architects expects that participating in LG Electronics’ overseas factory design project for the second time, following the Haiphong P4 building in Vietnam, will further solidify its foundation for involvement in the design of LG Electronics’ Phase-2 site and global production facilities.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony for Junglim Architects were Myungjin Lee, Head of Advanced Design; Jaewoo Kim, High-Tech BL; Jungkyu Park, Head of the India Branch; and Suengyoul Yoo (TL), High-Tech BU.
