Saenggakjidae and Junglim Architecture Present: Completion Site Tour, Answer: Site’s First Event

On Friday, July 19th, Junglim Architecture hosted the program, organized in collaboration with the non-profit group ‘Saenggakjidae’ (composed of domestic architecture students) and sponsored by the Junglim Architecture Culture Foundation. The first site visit took place at ‘Thinking Platform Dangsan’.
Since late last year, ‘Saenggakjidae’ and Junglim Architecture prepared and planned ‘Site Visit;’, aiming to provide students with an opportunity to indirectly experience the overall design process—including practical understanding, design, and construction—through field visits. Additionally, it sought to broaden the horizons of aspiring future architects by offering explanations and meetings with senior architects who had directly participated in and led the design process.
This event garnered significant interest and enthusiasm from students right from the recruitment stage. A total of 92 students from architecture-related departments nationwide applied for the 40 available spots, and final participants were selected through a secondary screening process.
The completion tour was divided into two parts: Part 1 featured a guided tour and Q&A session led by Mr. Kim Dong-gwan, the Design SL in charge of the project and docent; Part 2 consisted of group workshops where participants presented their thoughts on architecture through keywords such as ‘Sustainable Architecture’, ‘Design Process’, ‘Construction Management (CM)’, and ‘Landscape Space’.
<Site Visit> is scheduled to continue in the second half of the year with another completed project by Junglim Architecture. We hope it will broaden the horizons of students aspiring to be future architects and, through such diverse endeavors, become an event that lays the groundwork for the development of architectural culture. We ask for your continued support and interest.
