The Korea National Maritime Museum, located on the reclaimed land of Yeongdo Island in the city of Busan, is a space that, starting from the sea and flowing along the sea, allows one to feel and experience the ocean. The unusual style of the non-linear building image emerged during the process of devising a streamlined form of sea breezes, and is also the result of an idea to maximize the spatial experience of the interior which faces the sea. There is a library, souvenir shop and large auditorium on the lower levels, and subsidiary facilities such as a restaurant, exhibition space and observation deck on the upper levels. As one moves from the bottom to the top of the building, the building provides an opportunity to interact with the sea in a synesthetic manner.
