The COEX Mall Remodeling was a project to improve the image of COEX as a commercial facility and propose a new underground cultural complex space. JUNGLIM redefined the COEX space, which was originally opened in 2000, and proposed two concepts: The Unfolding Sky and The Urban River. The Unfolding Sky proposes a new type of commercial facility through linkages between the underground commercial facilities and the above ground space. Meanwhile, The Urban River is a device that stimulates a non-hierarchical urban experience. The remodeled COEX Mall has a total of 13 entrances, which organically link the space to the surrounding urban areas.
