Seoul Jamsil Sport Complex is a historically important site which held two International events, the Asian Games in 1986 and the Olympics in 1988. Ever since, the complex became a place of aspiration and nostalgia for citizens of Korea. However, after the Olympics, the site has been losing its vibrancy and allure since the vast main stadium could only be used for special occasions and the huge exterior space could only be utilized as parking lot. Moreover, the deteriorated concrete deck and disconnected pedestrian pathways are exacerbating the condition. A recovery of the lost memories in respect to the existing identity and placeness of the site is the starting point for this project.
