Through books, people have learned about the past and cultivated a broader perspective on the world. However, items that were once confined to preservation and organization and thus remained unseen are now recognized as a new medium that connects the past and present, bridges East and West, and links generations, thanks to libraries that house culture. Books are read by people through the act of opening them. Similarly, by being used by people, libraries provide spiritual nourishment that enriches the lives of the diverse social classes, generations, and local residents who use them. That is why libraries must remain open.
