The design adopted both open and closed stack systams for the library operation and clearly separated controlled areas from noncontralled areas throughout the library building. There is a contral and check point on the second floor which becomes a node connecting the controlled and noncontralled areas. The lobby space on the first floor is decorated to commemorate academic and spiritual achievements of a famous Korean philospher, Toigue. The Court yard allows sufficient penetration of sunlight into the building interior and helps proper air ventilation.
