The Chang-dong and Sanggye areas where this project site is located are in the northeastern part of Seoul and serve as a transportation hub connecting Seoul and northern Gyeonggi Province. Until the 1970s, the area was on the outskirts of Seoul, but as the city gradually expanded, its location has transformed into the center of the Northeast Four Districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the global spread of Korean popular culture, including the rise of K-POP in the 2010s, the scale of the popular music industry has also expanded. Demand for large-scale concerts and music festivals has increased, leading to ongoing discussions about the need for large-scale performance infrastructure to accommodate such events. However, there is currently a severe shortage of such infrastructure capable of hosting major performances domestically. Therefore, the plan is to design a world-class arena concert hall on this project site, symbolizing Seoul, and physically improve the environment to promote the economic development of Chang-dong and Sanggye areas together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
