{"id":5991,"date":"2012-10-20T09:16:00","date_gmt":"2012-10-20T00:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/junglim.com\/?p=5991"},"modified":"2026-04-02T14:21:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T05:21:28","slug":"gwangjin-police-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/junglim.com\/en\/gwangjin-police-station\/","title":{"rendered":"Gwangjin Police Station"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group pjtText\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project began with the question: \u201cHow should we utilize this narrow site, given the surrounding area\u2019s dense cluster of aging low-rise buildings and the demanding spatial program?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Surrounded by low-rise residential complexes, the site\u2019s spatial program\u2014which combines a police station, a local police substation, and facilities for reserve police officers\u2014involved a complex interplay of areas open to the public and those requiring security. Despite the constraints of limited available land and a restricted budget, the facility had to function as a public administrative building representing the local community.<br>The final design, derived through various layout studies, broke away from the conventional approach of placing outdoor parking lots at the front of existing police stations. This minimized interference between the police facilities and the residential complex while improving accessibility for the public.
