{"id":5612,"date":"2014-10-14T17:27:00","date_gmt":"2014-10-14T08:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/junglim.com\/?p=5612"},"modified":"2026-04-10T15:05:30","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T06:05:30","slug":"ksrs-environmental-weonju","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/junglim.com\/en\/ksrs-environmental-weonju\/","title":{"rendered":"KSRS Environmental, Weonju"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group pjtText is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p>The KSRS operates the world\u2019s second-largest and East Asia\u2019s largest observation network for analyzing seismic data and detecting nuclear tests.<br>The collected data is transmitted to the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources, the U.S. Air Force Technical Support Center, and the International Data Centre under the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), playing a pivotal role not only in Korea\u2019s disaster management and national security but also in international security.<br>Furthermore, the site features an open view of the city to the south and an average slope exceeding 40%. The design was planned with consideration for harmony with the surrounding landscape, a terraced earthwork plan to minimize environmental impact, and integration with the existing observatory site and the surrounding natural environment.
