Although building permits and construction commencement had been completed in 2016, the project was temporarily suspended and resumed five years later. Therefore, the design was required to newly reflect changes in visitor characteristics and market trends. The complex already features many attractions and entertainments, such as the largest waterpark in the Gyeongnam region, the Lotte Outlet Gimhae, a sports center, and a theme park. It was important for the new hotel to harmonize with these facilities as part of one integrated environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To facilitate easy maintenance, the building adopted a simple and minimal design while incorporating a streamlined, curved layout to avoid monotony in the repetitive guestroom units. Each room was designed to secure open views \u2014 either northward to the garden (theme park) within the tourist complex or southward to Ongyeobong Peak \u2014 offsetting scenic disadvantages of the suburban setting. In the central lobby of the hotel, a grand atrium was designed to let visitors experience a dramatic sense of space.
